Bloggy Giveaway: Emma
I love to read. I love to watch movies. If both of those happen to be Jane Austen stories, all the better. Today and tomorrow I am going to share with you my love of Jane Austen.
Today's giveaway is the book Emma and the movie Emma (the one with Gweneth Paltrow--it's the only one Borders had in stock. It's good.). So you can read the book, then watch the movie. Or vice versa.
Wanna win it? Leave me a comment on this post. That's it! Of course, I'd love it if you wrote something besides "Pick me!" or "I want this!" because I'd rather read about how you love Jane Austen and could spend all day watching her movies back-to-back or reading her books. But any comment counts.
The only thing I ask is that you don't enter more than once because duplicate entries will mean that you don't get any entries. Just so you know and all. And no anonymous comments because, hello? How can I contact you if you're anonymous? Just sayin'.
- This giveaway is open to US residents only because I'm nothing if not a total procrastinator and cheap to boot.
- You don't have to be a blogger to play along.
- I'll pick a winner on Friday and contact you that same day via e-mail. You have four days to respond. If I don't hear from you by then, I'll have to choose a new winner. Make sure you're checking your spam folder.
Please note: This DVD is a plain ol' DVD. Not Hi-Def. Not Blu-Ray. Just a plain ol' DVD. The book is just a plain ol' paperback book. Perfect to take in the car or to the pool this summer. The nice things about books are that they're so portable.

I recently read Emma as part of a virtual Jane Austen book club I'm involved in, and I love the movies! Knightley is my favorite Austen hero.

I know I've seen this movie and read this book, but for the life of me, I can't remember the plot.
Which is why I need to win. ;-) Replenish the brain cells the children have stolen from me, Chili! I need your help!

I would love for my daughter to read the book, but honestly? She's much more likely to watch the movie and I'll read the book.

Ooooh, this is so fun!!! When we were dating, my now-husband gave me the book Sense and Sensibility which I love, for itseld and for the sentimental reasons. Since then, he has given me the six-hour version Pride and Prejudice DVD and this month for my birthday, I received the DVD of Sense and Sensibility. It would be fun to add to the collection.
I always come away from Jane Austen's writing thoughtful and amused. She had such insight into human nature. I don't know how anyone could resist her books!

Ok, I am gonna admit it... I love to read but I have never read Jane Austin. I know, I am very bad. But on the plus side, my 15 year old daughter absolutely loves these books. That is why I want to be entered in this giveaway. She would love to have this book.
Thanks so much!

I do, I really, really do love Jane Austen. I used to own the A&E pride and prejudice... BEST movie ever. We have the new one now on DVD, but I want to get the old one back. I also love Emma, and have watched a few different Mansfield Park movies. However, I've never read one of her books (I know, I shouldn't admit that to anyone). Would love to win this! Thanks for the chance.
