Bloggy Giveaways Day 4

Carnival_button_2_4 Do you ever get the idea I may be giving stuff away so I don't have to write anything riveting this week? Oh yes, I do know you think my blogging is riveting. Edge-of-your-seat stuff. Well, it appears I'm fresh out of rivet this week and all I have are presents for you. So let's get to the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival Day 4!

I have for you today an amazing self-indulgence set from Red Envelope. Yes. THAT Red Envelope.

The set includes almond soap, almond lotion with shea butter, and a candle (presumably almond--I'm sensing a trend. I'm intuitive like that.).

And, as you can see from the giant sticker on the package, it's LUXE. As in DE-luxe. As in treat yourself, you totally deserve this.

Just leave me a comment on this post letting me know you'd like the oh-so-indulgent and almond-y bath set. Don't forget to leave an e-mail address so I can contact you if you win. I'll choose a random winner this weekend and post the name on Monday, February 4. Thanks for stopping by!

(I'm terribly sorry, but I can't afford international shipping so this contest is open to US residents only.)

New Podcast Up at Blogging Basics 101

Shannon and I are discussing grammar over at Blogging Basics 101 today. Come weigh in! I've posted the podcast as an mp3 and as an m4a. Let me know which one works for you (leave your comment over there, though, please). Thanks!

Bloggy Giveaways Day 3

Carnival_button_2_3 My friends, we are on a roll! We are on Day 3 of the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival and things are rockin'.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE to give things away? I really do. I enjoy making people happy and I enjoy shopping for and finding (or even making!) the perfect gift for a someone special.

Sometimes I just like making stuff. I get the crafty bug and I knit or I sew until I can't knit or sew any more. Then I look around at the carnage and I think,  "Now what? Who can I give this to?" Because oh my word I have enough purses.

That's where you come in.

This purse is primarily dark pink. I used two yarns, so it turned out speckled for the main body of the purse. Then I switched to just the pink for the trim and strap. Each side of the strap has a decorative green button made in Holland if you're into that sort of thing.

The purse measurements are

  • Tippy-top to very bottom: 27 inches
  • Just the purse body: 10 1/2 inches (length)
  • Across: 8 1/2 inches (width)

What do you think? Could you use a nice pink felted purse? Man, I hope so.

If this hand-made-by-Chilihead pink felted purse is just your style, leave me a comment on this post and tell me so! Don't forget to include an e-mail address so I can contact you if you win. I'll choose a random winner this weekend and announce on Monday, February 4. Thanks for stopping by!

Bloggy Giveaways Day 2

Carnival_button_2_2 Here we are at day 2 of the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival. I know you're going out of your minds wondering what I have for you today, aren't you?

Well, today I have a book.

Not just any book mind you. This book has been to BlogHer '07. In fact, the kind people at sk*rt gave this book to me and several tens of my closest friends and fans.

It's I Was a Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids by Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile. This book is brand-spanking new. I have not had time to read it and I doubt I'm going to have time to read it. I'd love to give it to you if you'd like to have it.

Just leave me a comment on this post letting me know you'd like the book and what e-mail I can contact you at if you win. I'll choose a random winner this weekend and post the name on Monday, February 4. Thanks for stopping by!

Bloggy Giveaways Day 1

Carnival_button_2 Shannon's hosting another Bloggy Giveaway Carnival this week. Her guidelines are here.

Basically, I'm giving away free stuff and you don't have to do anything but leave a comment letting me know you'd like to be entered and which e-mail address I can use to contact you if you win.

I'm going to offer something every single day this week. I know, right?!? Because I am Chilihead the benevolent. Lawsie, though, I hope you like what I have to offer.

First up is a lovely tote bag made by yours truly. It is lined. I've made these for friends and family and they all say they love them. I even made myself one and I use it to carry books back and forth from the library. They are quite handy, if I do say so myself.

The fabric is light blue with a dark blue, light blue, and white O pattern. The handle is black mesh--very sturdy. The lining is muslin.

Leave me a comment if you'd like a chance at winning this tote bag. I will choose a winner this weekend and announce on Monday, February 4. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh yes, there IS a second installment!

Bloggy Giveaway Carnival on Monday!

Carnival_button_2

Y'all have all heard that Shannon's hosting a Bloggy Giveaway carnival next week, haven't you? I'm excited to be participating again. You'll have to come back on Monday to see what I have for you. If my weekend goes well, I may have several things throughout the week!

Hidden Mickey

Because it's just so appropriate given Husband's betrayal personal visit to The Mouse.

This is one of Emily's hairless cats. Can you find the hidden Mickey?

My Husband Went Without Us

Chilihead: Hello?

Husband: Hey! I just finished some almonds. Caaaaandieeeed almonds. Should I get you some?

Chilihead: What? Yes. Get me some candied almonds and bring them home with you tomorrow. Whatever. Thank you for calling to rub that in, my afternoon is complete.

Husband: Guess what KIND of candied almonds they are?

Chilihead: The candied kind? With sugar? And almonds?

Husband: They are EPCOT candied almonds!

Chilihead: You are NOT in EPCOT without us!

(In the background I hear the familiar Por favor, mantengan se allejado de las puertas.)

Chilihead: You are NOT on the monorail without us!

Husband: I had some extra time after my business meeting and thought I'd get some almonds. At EPCOT. And now I'm getting on the monorail to go to The Magic Kingdom. To get more almonds.

Chilihead: KIDS! Your daddy is at Disney World without us! Let's go get ice cream and show him who's boss!
