Noble Excellence Holiday Dishes: No Lead
Last year for Christmas, my mother gave me a beautiful platter and four dinner plates in the Noble Excellence Christmas pattern. I just love them. This year she told me to pick out more and she would give them to me for Christmas again. Don't you just love them? (You can click on the pictures for a closer look.)
Each piece has a part of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.
AND! They were on sale! Each dinner plate was $4.49! Each salad plate was $4.49! (These are available at Dillard's, btw.)
And the serving pieces!
To die for right? Except you might not know that they really could be. To die for, that is. Because? They are made in China. So now I have to go by a lead detection kit.
UPDATE: I did NOT find any lead in the dishes. Whoopee!

Ohhh, you lucky, lucky woman. I want your mother!!! :-D Okay, seriously, I'll just take the plates! They are so beautiful!!! Hope that lead test turns out alright...;-)

I love these. "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" has special meaning for my mother. Every year my grandpa read this to her as part of their family tradition.
Really sweet, and in my favorite color, too!

Just beautiful! It reminds me of the china I collect called transferware, the most famous of which is called Blue Willow. The process dates back to 1756. Gorgeous stuff.
You can read about it here:

Jo-anne's fabrics has a cotton print that matches your china set! I saw it yesterday and would make really cute napkins!

I love all things red, white, and toilish ... the colors and patterns of my own dining room.
And sadly, sometimes, we just have to do what we have to do ... and no one had better whine about it, either ... because in the grand scheme of things ... WHAT'S A LITTLE LEAD when it's only once a year? Seriously!

Please update us on whether the test turned out to be positive or not. My husband and I just bought this set at Dillard's and are anxious to hear the results.
