« Iowa: Now What are You Going to Do? | Main | Overheard at The Lake »

Thanks for the Encouragement!

I just want to say thank you to all of you for the awesome comments on my bags! You all really know how to encourage a girl. THANK YOU!

In answer to a question several of you had: I have thought about selling my bags, but didn't know if there was anyone who'd actually buy them. I think I may have the courage to make a few and try out etsy or just sell them here. It will be a few weeks, though, as I'm on vacation right now and then I have some family business to attend to before I get back to sewing. I'll let you all know when they're up and ready!

In answer to the second most popular question: The pattern I used is a Kwik Sew pattern (don't know the exact number right now as I'm in Iowa and the pattern is in Oklahoma). I like the Kwik Sew patterns because they are made of a sturdier typing paper instead of flimsy tissue paper. These patterns also have very easy-to-follow directions with pictures. Because I used an actual pattern, I'm not comfortable with giving out the instructions (copyrights and all). When I return to Oklahoma, I'll find the pattern number for you. MmmmmmK?

Thanks again for all of your encouraging words. You have no idea how thrilling it was to read your comments!

ummmmm, what a friend I am. I can't take credit for writing any encouraging words. But I was thinking them. Honest! Or maybe it was just something like "man, that Chili's got it going on with that sewing machine..." And I can't seem to find even a needle and thread anywhere in my house other than my husband's. Yes. My husband has a needle and thread and I don't.

Can't wait for you to get some done. You should have a contest to win one! HINT HINT! LOL

They were so cute :D

The bags would definately sell... no doubts!! They are FABULOUS!!!

While you're in Iowa would you mind saying a big hello to the midwest for me!?! You may not remember but I grew up on the Nebraska/ Iowa border. My old stompin' grounds and I won't be making it back myself this year.

Enjoy your time! I hope it's not too hot an humid during your stay!!! Of course then maybe your son would have more luck with getting to swim. :-)

Seriously, have a GREAT time!

I thought you might find this funny, and I guess it's a testament to the fact that I haven't had enough caffiene. The ENTIRE first time I read this I thought you were writing about your BANGS. Selling your BANGS? hmmmm... Pattern for BANGS?? hmmm... Then I figured it all out and re-read it.

PS- I do think your bags looked great.

PPS- I was born and raised in Iowa and totally get "Now what are you going to do?" I think they was my mom's second favorite saying, right behind "Don't ask me why, just do it."

your bags would sell for sure. you could sell them from your site, or craiglist.org, or etsy. or all 3 :)

and i'm excited to see the pattern #. maybe i could figure it out? probably not. maybe i'll buy one from you?

With recent developments in my life, I am even more interested in your bags. Would you consider one with some interior pockets, and maybe one on the outside. Something that could pass for a diaper bag but be so much cuter and more versatile? Please?
Don't mind me. It is the hormones talking. :)
