OK, I'm Just Gonna Say It
Our society has reached a new low. Days and days of Anna Nicole Smith and anything they could dig up. Who cares? Seriously. At one point I actually saw a picture of her on a news show with the words America's Rose next to it. WTH? Yeah, if by rose you mean wilted, wrinkled, and dropping faster than a Bunny at Hef's parties.
A few days ago I saw the new commercial for Pizza Hut's Cheesy Bites with Jessica Simpson. The first thing I thought was, "Are they trying to make her look like Anna Nicole?"
- Ditzy blond: check
- Slightly slurred speech that's trying to be sultry: checkity check check
- Red dress and bright lips: checkaroony
- Unladylike behavior in a ball gown: bibbidy-bobbidee-CHECK
What do you think? Is Jessica going to be the new Anna?

The really sad thing about the whole situation is that there are 4 men claiming to be the father of the little girl - and fighting over her - but I'm sure that has NOTHING to do with her $400 million inheritance. Poor thing - even when she's a darling baby men only want her for her money!

It's turned in to one of those things that I know I shouldn't be watching but I just can't quit looking. Just when you think you've heard it all, along comes another twist. It's the best "show" on television!

"bibbidy-bobbidee-CHECK"...girlfriend, how do you come up with this stuff???

I doubt that Jessica Simpson ever eats fat-laden food like Pizza!
This situation with the Anna Nicole baby is just sad. No one really wants her just because they love her, they want her for her $$$!

See... now this here is exactly why I don't watch tv. I just don't have time for all the insanity! Besides, if I keep rolling my eyes the way I have lately, I'm going to be one sorry(er) looking mama.
But I have PLENTY of time for you, Chili.

Checkerooni. I'm tired of it too. Feel sorry for the baby, but aside from all that, it's just a circus. She was a drugged up loose woman...we shouldn't be glorifying it.

I have a link at my place to Craig Ferguson's recent monologue on how we treat celebrities, including her. It really moved me.

See now, the one that really got ME was when I read that: "now that Britney has taken a turn towards the dark-side, she is no longer a role model for our children." I'm thinking.....at what point was she ever a role-model for any of our children?

Read Chilihead for a giggle and a challenge?
Check-a-dee-do-dah, check-a-dee-ay!
Always glad I stopped by, and today is no exception. Anna Nicole's story is so very sad. I always wondered what was missing that made her so entirely needy. Did someone fail to heed the Spirit's prompting to be the hands and heart of Jesus to her? It makes me determined to love recklessly.

I don't think so. JS has a very stable family foundation. ANS never had that. But who knows.

I agree. When we watch the news now (and by "news" I mean the regular news channels - not Entertainment Tonight, I find myself saying over and over again - "How is this news?? When did the celebrity's lives become "regular" news. I can understand when a celebrity or someone well known dies that they might address it, but things like who got kicked off Survivor or American Idol, or Brittany Spears shaving her head - these things are not things I conside regular news. Regular news is the weather, local news, big political news, etc. Not who hooked up or broke up in Hollywood. I usually end up just turning the TV off and reading a book instead!
On a side note - I think you blog is hilarious Chilihead. The first post I ever read was about the spatula in the Rice Krispies and I laughed and laughed because I could just picture is all happening and I sympathized! Thanks for your work making our days brighter!

I suspect they're cut from the same cloth - I've always thought Jessica was on her way down. Just tacky.

I hope not....I wouldn't wish the sad lonely story of Anna Nicole Smith, on my worst enemy.
